Speakers
Amalia Swan, Food Bank of Central New York
Amalia Swan is the Chief Community Impact Officer at the Food Bank of Central New York. Amalia has been with the Food Bank for 29 years, largely focused on increasing participation in several federal nutrition assistance programs including SNAP, WIC, National School Breakfast, CACFP, and the Summer Food Service Program. During her tenure, Amalia has coordinated outreach efforts in six counties, created a website that allows individuals to self-screen for SNAP and played a critical role in reducing the New York State SNAP application from 17 pages to 2 pages, eliminating a major barrier to service. She oversees the following departments: Advocacy, Agency Relations, Outreach, Nutrition, and our healthcare partnerships projects.
Alice Hudson & Christi Mallasch, Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina
Alice Hudson is the Healthy Opportunities Manager at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. She plays a key role in implementing the organization’s 1115 waiver work as part of the Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP)—the nation’s first program to evaluate the impact of non-medical interventions for high-need Medicaid enrollees. Alice leads a network of partner agencies and staff in delivering high-quality food boxes and resource navigation services to individuals in southeastern North Carolina.
Christi Mallasch is the Director of Senior Nutrition Programs at the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Christi and her team run the single largest senior feeding program in North Carolina, serving thousands of individuals every month. She has integrated home delivery into her food distribution approach and scaled this effort by partnering with DoorDash to reach more seniors.
