The Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP) and Nourish New York (NNY) are cornerstone state nutrition programs that ensure millions of New Yorkers can access healthy food through a network of emergency food providers.
Yet, as hunger levels continue to rise and operational barriers persist, these programs require both sustainable funding and administrative modernization to remain effective.
OUR NETWORK RESPECTFULLY URGES THE LEGISLATURE AND EXECUTIVE TO:
- Fund HPNAP and Nourish New York at $75 million each in the FY27 Budget
- Implement key administrative improvements to strengthen program delivery and efficiency
